LexTech: Centre for Law, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation is a research centre dedicated to exploring the intersections of law and emerging technologies. With a focus on FinTech, AI, TMT, Online Gaming & Betting Laws, and Data Privacy, LexTech promotes interdisciplinary research, capacity building, and responsible tech adoption.

The First Edition of Lexathon
Lexathon is a first-of-its-kind tech-law conclave, designed to bring together lawyers, policymakers, industry experts, and students to explore the legal and regulatory challenges of emerging technologies. The conclave features competitions, panel discussions, and networking opportunities to foster a deeper understanding of FinTech, AI, Data Privacy, Online Gaming, and Tech Regulation.
Our previous edition, Lexathon 2025, was a two-day national conclave featuring an Ideathon, Startup Pitch Competition, Paper Presentation Competition, and a high-impact panel discussion on the DPDP Rules. The event was supported by our esteemed collaborators Saraf & Partners, The Dialogue, LiveLaw, Manupatra, and State Bank of India. Lexathon witnessed wide student participation and meaningful engagement with industry experts, academicians, and practitioners, reinforcing our commitment to advancing discourse on technology law and policy.
About Lexathon 2026
In 2026, we are eager to make Lexathon bigger and better. The conclave features multiple academic and policy-driven competitions, including a Paper Presentation Competition in collaboration with Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co, Policy Presentation Competition in collaboration with Regstreet Law Advisors along with panel discussions and networking opportunities designed to deepen engagement with contemporary tech law challenges.
About the Policy Presentation Competition
The Policy Presentation Competition is designed to provide participants with a dynamic platform to develop innovative and actionable legal policy proposals addressing pressing challenges in the technology sector. Participants are encouraged to craft regulatory frameworks that catalyse technological advancement while safeguarding ethical standards, transparency, and legal compliance.
The theme for this edition is: “Ethical Governance of Artificial Intelligence in Securities Markets: Ensuring Transparency, Fairness, and Investor Protection.” The detailed policy problem statement will be released on 24th February, 2026.
Eligibility & Team Composition
- Open to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law students, including those enrolled in integrated law programs, from recognized universities.
- Participation is permitted individually or in teams of two (cross-institutional teams allowed).
- No limit on the number of teams registering from a single institution.
Competition Format
The competition will be conducted in two stages. Participants are required to submit a policy proposal of up to 3,000 words based on the problem statement released on 24th February, 2026. All submissions will undergo a plagiarism and compliance screening, following which they will be reviewed by Regstreet Law Advisors. The top eight submissions will be shortlisted for the online presentation round scheduled on 28th March, 2026, where each team will present for 10 minutes followed by a 5 minute question and answer session.

Why Participate?
The Policy Presentation Competition offers students an opportunity to engage with real-world regulatory dilemmas at the intersection of artificial intelligence and securities law. Participants will gain exposure to practical policy drafting, receive feedback from experienced professionals, and contribute meaningfully to ongoing conversations on responsible AI governance. The Winners and Runners Up will be awarded internship opportunities with Regstreet Law Advisors, along with certificates and prize money.
